11 Strategies To Completely Defy Your Item Upgrader

World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items can be used to increase the stats of a particular item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it can increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Upgrading gear in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests, and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specific amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its base stats increase in value. This value is the sum of all of an item's leveled-up perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive dependent on who you employ and what you do. This is due to the variety of perks that must be altered to upgrade an item.

Item level is a popular measure of power, and can be seen on all tooltips of items. It is also used to limit how much PvP gear players are able to wear since PvP is not available at a lower level. The average level of an item can be found on the character sheet.

The level of an item can help players compare the power of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's an excellent gauge of an item's worth and the amount of damage it's capable of causing. The level of the item can be used to compare items when looking at a vendor's inventory.

The level of the item can be checked by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories on how the item level calculation is made. One theory is that the item level is a number that comes from a formula that calculates how much an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration that different perks are valued differently, and that gems found in sockets increase the value of the item. This could result in an item's ilvl which is calculated and is typically very close to Blizzard's real item level.

This is not the only thing that affects the level of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped can alter its stats. For instance, it could increase the item's haste or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have a higher value.

Item Stats

The stats of an item are a major element in what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat mods of a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's level.

Upgrades to an item may increase its stats. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. An item that is white or grey, for example, will only be upgraded one time however, items with rare tiers may be upgraded multiple times at higher prices.

Affixes are another way to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes could do things like give the item additional damage, or give a specific capability to the item (such as reviving the dead or decreasing the cooldowns) or make the item unique by putting an additional name to the item.

All affixes are re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade menu pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items, which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other options for rerolling.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can select which of the available stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The stat ranges are determined by the item's level. However, all items will have at least one stat within the same range, unless it's a unique item or the item is a God Roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to roll the attaches, or select which stats to boost. But, like base equipment, this would have to be done on a per-item basis, and the interface for comparing items would not display all the possible stats gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player increases the probability of obtaining items, the properties that are generated by loot, and the strength of these properties. It does not, however, directly affect damage or the ability to  upgrade item s. It gives players the chance to upgrade gear earlier in the game. This is more beneficial in early game runs because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith’s overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each new level of item. They can also be increased with the use of anti-materials such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons come with an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on their material type) for a further +40 luck or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Additionally some items, such as the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow, can be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items can be purchased at the store or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades are successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their chances of success or even prevent themselves from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

The success rate of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The success of an upgrades is also influenced by the Luck of that item. Every item has a success rate of 25 percent, and each item with Luck increases this chance by 5percent.

Note that upgrades to items are rendered above the inventory items which means that enchantment glints and other effects could be obstructed by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
