This will ensure that you have a robust roster at the time you reach the level 9 upgrade goal.
The rerolling process is like the leveling up system. item upgrading can be used to remove any Level Up option and replace it with a different one. However unlike Level Up, reroll tokens don't reset the item's level. This means that when you reroll an upgraded item, it will no longer be at that level and won't be able to enjoy its extra bonus.
Players can also make use of the special mechanic Eliminate, to eliminate any Level Up option they have on their equipment or weapons. This is a great option when you've had a bad gacha result or you want to roll a five-star unit. You will need to create a brand new account or sign up via social media.
In every town, you can also visit an Occultist to alter the attributes or stats of a weapon or armor. This is useful if have a five-star epic unit that you want to improve, or if you have an elite four-star player you are struggling with.

In Nioh the game uses Sets to create special effects when players wear armor of a set of armor. These bonuses are referred to as Set Bonuses, and they are superior to Effects. While it's not explained in the universe why armor sets must be worn together to create these effects, they provide an interesting change of pace when playing the game. The armor sets that have Set Bonuses are found in many places around Hyrule like the Dark Moon Temple and Twilight Temple.
Each piece of equipment included in the Set includes a set of Set bonuses that go along with it. The tooltip near the bottom of the item will inform you which Set Bonuses are available. Set Bonuses are displayed in a box with a red border.
Certain of these set bonuses are only available for specific pieces of equipment. If you equip the entire Phantom Armor set, you will get +8 defense (instead of the 3 defense you get with most gear). Certain sets are only available through completing specific tasks or by purchasing them at the Auction House.
